The Christian Right... or Wrong?
From The Midwest Book Review
Internet Book Watch
Written by a non-Christian, for Christians and those of all faiths who are committed to selfless good works in the
name of the divine, The Christian Right... or Wrong? of Corporate Christianity and its Leading Media Evangelists is a
scathing dissection of the self-serving hypocrisy, idolatry, and divisive claims of forty influential, modern-day American
Christian leaders, including Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, Robert Schuller and Jimmy Swaggart.
Winner of the 2005 Ethos Award, The Christian Right... or Wrong? denounces the greed of corporatized church tithing
(especially in terrorizing one's flock with accusations of thievery from God if they do not relinquish 10% of their income),
the Catholic Church's idolatry of its system of concentrated power that does not hold child-molesting priests accountable
for their crimes, the harm in exhorting that man is saved through faith alone, neglecting the importance of good works in
bringing one's spirit closer to the divine, and much more.
Author John Cord does not shy from such thorny topics as homosexuality, abortion, and reincarnation. Cord refutes
self-serving scriptural arguments from corrupt religious leaders with an honest and refreshing "common sense" look at
scripture that emphasizes the importance of bringing one's soul closer to God through one's noble and charitable deeds.
Highly recommended.

THE CHRISTIAN RIGHT ...OR WRONG? John Cord, Blue Dolphin Publishing, ISBN: 1-57733-179-6
As an ex-seminarian, I am frequently interested in reviewing religious-related material and in the case of The
Christian Right... or Wrong, I was not only pleased but also intensely impressed. John Cord does not interpret biblical
scriptures to "fit" any sectarian agenda, nor does he try, thankfully. He shows how the issues follow a more
fund-amental theme. Money, of course.
Christianity's problem is not the world's non-Christians, abortionists, gays or any such group. Its greatest problem
is itself, having denied Christ's Selfless Message for the selfish teachings of "corporate Christianity."
Cord clearly shows where and how God's Message is used to serve human greed and selfishness. Reading The Christian Right...
or Wrong was a jolting, eye-opening experience, and very much appreciated. Like many others, I have studied scriptures and
related materials for years, searching for a deeper understanding, one that did not exclude me. I have seen too many
"interpretations" of scripture that either explained away the details or ignored them. Cord specifically addresses every
detail of every issue, not as a leader of any sect or group, but as a simple man examining the facts. Case after case,
preacher after preacher, we are shown how selfish teachings fuel the business of corporate Christianity.
We see in the Bible that Jesus did not support the "business" of the Temple in Jerusalem, but called it a
"den of thieves." Cord carefully illustrates how this same "den" exists today, having been bought, brought and built by
corporate Christianity.
The Christian Right ...or Wrong is a truly insightful book that definitively addresses the problems and identifies the
culprits. So get a copy and get out of the corporate churches and into the Light. Read and learn. John Cord's book lifted
me from "Recovering Catholic" to "Happy Recovered Catholic" which, for me, means content Christian.
